BabyYak brand - Mongolian yak wool
BabyYak brand - Mongolian yak wool products
The Baby Yak brand was established and developed by Ar Arvijin Delgerekh Cooperative in Arkhangai aimag, which was established in 2010 with the support of AVSF Mongolia. “Ar Arvijin Delgerekh” Cooperative with 238 members from 88 herder households in six soums is currently a member of AVSF Mongolia's Sustainable Cashmere Union and produces genuine yak wool products.
The cooperative aims to support herders' livelihoods by producing sustainable value-added yak wool products, reduce pastureland degradation, and promote Mongolian yak wool in the domestic and global markets. “Ar Arvijin Delgerekh” Cooperative organizes training for herders on how to comb and sort yak wool, and is producing knitted products from factory-processed wool.
In addition, as a result of supplying primary processed yak wool to foreign markets and cooperating with local travel companies, the cooperative is distributing dividends to its members, supporting their livelihoods and creating jobs. Yak wool is a unique material that is durable and lightweight and that retains heat very well. Quality yak wool is made from the soft, long hairs of the yak's belly. More
