Celebrating the World Accreditation Day
STeP EcoLab project supported an online conference organized by the Mongolian National Authority for Accreditation on World Accreditation Day on June 9 under the theme "Supporting the Sustainable Development Goals through Accreditation". The vision and mission of STeP EcoLab project is to introduce environmentally friendly production in the wool and cashmere sector, thereby contributing to the national development of a waste-free economy and the achievement of Sustainable Development Goal 12.
During the event, we provided information on how sustainable production practices are being introduced in the Mongolian wool and cashmere sector, as well as project results, future goals and objectives. The Code of Sustainable Textile Production, developed with the support of the project partners, is the first document to ensure that Mongolia's textile industry is environmentally friendly and socially responsible. Therefore, it makes a significant contribution to the development of the industry's accreditation to the world level.
In addition, sustainable production is reflected in how products compete in the global market in terms of product quality, environment, transparency and social well-being, with national and internationally recognized accreditation and certification at the forefront. Therefore, we have taken the first step by initiating the above-mentioned Code of Sustainable Textile Production in order to provide this opportunity to enterprises wishing to engage in sustainable wool and cashmere production.
